Beyer points out Scoring Chick

Scoring Chick will try to stretch her speed six furlongs in the $50,000 Prairie Meadows Debutante on Saturday.

The Debutante, which attracted five 2-year-old fillies, will be joined on the card by the $50,000 Prairie Meadows Freshman, a six-furlong stakes for 2-year-olds.

Scoring Chick opened up a big lead and just hung on to win at Arlington in her lone race. She earned a Beyer Speed Figure of 89 for that five-furlong Polytrack race, a number that towers above anything earned by her foes. Glenn Corbet has the mount.

Cocktail Clarence and That's a Good Thing, both coming off a maiden victory, head a six-horse field for the Freshman.

Cocktail Clarence won at Louisiana Downs, while That's a Good Thing graduated in a high-priced maiden claimer at Saratoga.

Locally based Jumpifyoudare has the home course advantage and could be a threat if he can take a step forward off his Iowa Cradle victory last month. Perry Compton will ride the Iowa-bred Jumpifyoudare.
