Beulah: Polite Lil Sir stays unbeaten

Polite Lil Sir maintained his perfect record by defeating nine Ohio-bred rivals in the $50,000 H.B. Noonan over a sloppy track at Beulah, on a cold, rainy day.

Breaking from post 9, Polite Lil Sir, a 3-year old gelding, stayed just off the pace to the turn and then responded when asked by jockey Christain Pilares to draw clear and win by two lengths in 1:10.64.

Polite Lil Sir, trained by Joe Martin, has now won all four of his outings. He returned $19.20 in the Noonan. Pyrite Personal, the second choice in the wagering, was second. Matcher, after being steadied at the start, finished well and was third. Head to Toe, the 6-5 favorite and Ohio juvenile champion last year, was shuffled back at the start and was never a factor, finishing seventh.
