Beulah Park: Paucar gets career win No. 2,000

Jockey Edgar Paucar posted the 2,000th victory of his career in Monday's second race at Beulah Park. Paucar won the maiden-claiming race aboard Two Cat Wendy, who is owned and trained by Don Mills.

Through Sunday, Paucar ranked 18th in North America in wins, with 35. In 2012 he finished eighth with 260 winners, 166 of them at Beulah.

Paucar graduated from the Jockey School of Peru, which also produced such outstanding riders as Edgar Prado and Rafael Bejarano. Paucar has won riding titles at Beulah Park and River Downs.
