Beulah: Marketable looks good

Multiple-stakes-placed Marketable leads a field of nine Ohio-bred 2-year-old fillies, all seeking their first stakes victory, in the $40,000 Glacial Princess Stakes at Beulah Park.

Marketable rallied to finish third in the 1 1/16-mile John W. Galbreath at Thistledown on Oct. 9, making her the only member of the mile and 70-yard Glacial Princess field to be stakes placed around two turns. Four of the fillies are maidens and the other five, including Marketable, have only a maiden win.

Prior to her start in the Galbreath, Marketable showed early speed and finished third, beaten 2 1/2 lengths, in the six-furlong Emerald Necklace at Thistledown.

Overall, Marketable, a daughter of Gold Market, sports a record of 1-0-2 from 4 starts. Hector Rosario Jr. will ride Marketable, who figures to stalk the early leaders.

Cloudy Forty Nine is the only other member of the field to have placed in stakes company, finishing second, beaten one length, in the six-furlong Tah Dah at River Downs on Aug. 1.

Cloudy Forty Nine returns from a three-month layoff in the Glacial Princess with a new trainer, Gerado Carrillo-Dominguez. He's her third trainer in four career starts.

Seeking the Honey won her career debut against maiden special weight company at six furlongs on Nov. 5 for trainer Larry Smith. Joddie Fortner has a return call. Seeking the Honey can be a major factor from just off the pace.
