Defending champion Just Michel heads a field of seven Ohio-bred fillies and mares in the $50,000 Angenora Stakes at six furlongs.

Just Michel, a multiple-stakes-winning 6-year-old mare by Pacific Waves, enters the Angenora on a three-race winning streak, which dates back to December.

In her most recent start, Just Michel rallied from three lengths back at the furlong pole to a three-quarter-length victory against open allowance rivals here at six furlongs on March 1. Overall, Just Michel has a record of 15-8-2 from 32 starts, and $299,583 in earnings. She has won 8 of her 12 starts at Beulah. Edgar Paucar, the meet's leading rider, has a return call aboard Just Michel, who figures to rally from well off the early pace. She is trained by Mike Nance.

Flip Side might be the main danger to Just Michel as she returns from a 7 1/2-month layoff for trainer Bill Napier.

Flip Side had three straight stakes wins last summer before finishing off the board in open company in her final two starts of the year. Flip Side had a bullet five-furlong workout over a muddy track at River Downs a week ago. But she is winless in three career starts at Saturday's six-furlong distance. Hector Rosario Jr. has the mount aboard Flip Side, who has won 5 of her 13 starts.

Bold Passage is another who enters off a long layoff. Trained by Austin Smith, she hasn't raced since Sept. 16. Bold Passage finished on the board in 5 of her 6 starts last year at age 3 and has three solid workouts at the Palm Meadows training center in Florida this month. Louis Stokes picks up the mount on Bold Passage, who figures to rally from off the early pace in the Angenora.
