Beulah cancels after one race

Beulah Park canceled the final seven races of its eight-race card Saturday because of an uneven racing surface.

After the post parade for the first race, the riders returned to the paddock, complaining about the racing surface. The first race was run following a half-hour delay to float the track.

Nasser, a longshot, was pulled up entering the stretch of the one-mile maiden special weight event and was later vanned off. Following a meeting between management and the jockeys, the remainder of the program was canceled. Racing is scheduled to resume Monday afternoon.
