Betfair to sponsor Australia’s Magic Millions sales company
Email
Australian bloodstock sales company Magic Millions announced on Tuesday that international wagering company Betfair will become a major sponsor of Magic Millions beginning Jan. 1.
The sponsorship deal takes effect before the start of the Jan. 9 Magic Millions Gold Coast yearling sale. Giles Thompson, chief executive officer of Betfair Australasia, said that the commercial sponsorship with Magic Millions reflects Betfair’s support for two primary stakeholders in Australian racing: bettors and owners.
Betfair’s sponsorship with Magic Millions is a nationwide arrangement, and will launch with the Gold Coast sale before extending to sales in Adelaide, Perth, and Launceston. Prospective buyers at each of these sales will be provided with exclusive access to Betfair’s unique owner’s club.
“As a proud supporter of Thoroughbred racing at all levels, Betfair is thrilled to partner with Magic Millions as a major sponsor,” Thompson said. “Our unique product offering has changed the face of wagering in Australia and we are here to stay. We look forward to a long and fruitful relationship with the nation’s most dynamic Thoroughbred sale.”
Magic Millions managing director Vin Cox said that the synergy between Betfair and his sales company would benefit Australia’s Thoroughbred industry and ensure its future growth.
“Betfair boasts close to four million customers in over 55 countries and accordingly is in unique position to showcase the Magic Millions sales, and its many outstanding graduates, on a global scale,” Cox said.
