Benny the Bull relocating to Bridlewood

Champion sprinter Benny the Bull will relocate to stand the 2015 breeding season at John and Leslie Malone’s Bridlewood Farm in Ocala, Fla. His fee has not yet been determined.

The 11-year-old Lucky Lionel horse, who is currently standing the Southern Hemisphere breeding season in Brazil, previously stood at Winding Oaks Farm. His advertised fee for 2014 was $2,500.

Benny the Bull went undefeated in 2008 to earn the Eclipse Award as champion male sprinter. His victories included the Group 1 Dubai Golden Shaheen, as well as a pair of Grade 2 scores in the True North Handicap and Smile Sprint Handicap. He also won the Grade 1 Frank J. De Francis Memorial Dash the prior year. He retired in 2009 with nine wins from 20 career starts for earnings of $2,353,430.

Benny the Bull, whose oldest foals are 3, is the sire of 19 winners from just 34 starters, including a number of stakes horses in Puerto Rico.

"We are pleased to offer Benny the Bull to Florida breeders and to have him join our stallion roster for 2015,” Bridlewood general manager George Isaacs said. “He was a champion, and is siring a high percentage of quality winners. I think he presents a real opportunity and value to the savvy, informed breeder.”
