Belmont: Wait a While, Fegan's Legacy romp

Wait a While used her early speed and Fegan's Legacy waited a little longer to use his speed Sunday, when each ran off to lengthy victories in off-the-turf juvenile stakes at Belmont Park.

In the $82,575 Pilgrim for colts and geldings, Fegan's Legacy took command before the three-furlong marker under Joe Bravo and galloped home through the stretch to win by 3 1/4 lengths in hand over Church Service. It was 14 lengths back to favored Go Between in third.

Trained by Kelly Breen. Fegan's Legacy ($13.40) ran 1 1/8 miles in 1:52.11 over a dirt track labeled good. The Pilgrim was originally scheduled for 1 1/8 miles on the turf.

In the $82,250 Miss Grillo for juvenile fillies, Wait a While assumed command quickly under Jerry Bailey, set leisurely fractions, and cruised to a 6 1/2-length victory over Swap Fliparoo. It was 22 1/4 lengths back to Interpretation in third.

Wait a While, trained by Todd Pletcher, ran 1 1/8 miles in 1:52.87 and returned $4.40 as the favorite. The Miss Grillo was originally scheduled for 1 1/8 miles on the turf.

Also on Sunday's card, Taming the Tiger ($22.20) scored a 3 3/4-length win in the rescheduled $79,250 Lawrence Realization.
