Belmont pick six pays $103K

A record New York pick six pool of $4,404,280 was divided up Wednesday by 29 winners, each worth $103,754. All of the winning tickets were bought offtrack.

A carryover of $1,186,625 resulted when the $1 million-guaranteed pick six was not hit on Belmont Stakes Day, and an additional $3,217,655 was bet when racing resumed Wednesday following three dark days.

The winning program numbers on races 4 through 9 were 2-7-6-9-5-10, corresponding to My Dinah ($6.90), Youbethecan ($21), Willsboro Point ($47.80), Myakka ($5.30), Pennington ($9.20) and Ten Forty ($3.40). Each winning ticket was worth $103,754. The pick five consolation paid $255.50.

Myakka and Ten Forty were the only winning favorites. Heading into the final leg, Say Karakorum Sandy, who ran sixth, was the only uncovered horse.

The largest potential payoff of $1,498,217 was on Mackinaw (also unplaced).

The previous record pick six carryover in New York was $761,021 on Jan. 17, 2004 at Aqueduct, and the total pool of $2,630,316 stood as the record until Wednesday. The $1,120,287 payoff to two winners that day remains the New York record.
