Zagora will make her next start in the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf.

Flower Bowl 1-2 finishers Nahrain and Zagora appear headed to the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf.

Nahrain, second in the Filly and Mare Turf last year, earned her spot in the race by winning Saturday’s Grade 1 Flower Bowl by a half-length over Zagora.

Roger Varian, trainer of Nahrain, returned to Newmarket on Saturday night, but no decision yet has been made on whether the filly will stay in the United States to train up to the Breeders’ Cup or return to Newmarket.

Meanwhile, trainer Chad Brown said Flower Bowl runner-up Zagora would point to the Filly and Mare Turf, but third-place finisher Dream Peace would most likely not go to the race.

Even prior to the Flower Bowl, owner Martin Schwartz made Zagora Breeders’ Cup-eligible. However, Dream Peace is not eligible, and Brown said her owners have not indicated they want to pay the exorbitant supplemental fee to make her eligible. Brown said Dream Peace could wheel back in the E.P. Taylor at Woodbine.

“Zagora is going to the Breeders’ Cup,” Brown said. “Mr. Schwartz has already supplemented her. I thought they both ran very well, and so far they’ve come out of the race well.”
