ELMONT, N.Y. - Trainer Tom Albertrani hopes to end the Belmont meeting with a bang when he runs Twilight Eclipse in Saturday’s Grade 1 Man o’ War. Then he is hoping to get off to a hot start in Saratoga, with top contenders in both of the opening-day stakes. Albertrani will run Souper Speedy in the Grade 3, $100,000 James Marvin for older sprinters at seven furlongs and debut winner True Blue Nation in the Grade 3, $150,000 Schuylerville Stakes for 2-year-old fillies. Souper Speedy has won his last two starts, the latest with an assist from the stewards who placed him first in the off-the-turf Jaipur Stakes, in which he finished second but was interfered with by stablemate Big Screen. True Blue Nation, a daughter of Bluegrass Cat, won her debut by 5 1/4 lengths here June 21. “She was very impressive first time out,” Albertrani said. “I don’t generally push the 2-year-olds. For her to do that well first time out was pretty impressive. I’d expect a move forward off of that.”
