Belmont carryover reaches $540K

ELMONT, N.Y. - Despite the fact there were three winning favorites in the sequence, nobody correctly picked six for the third consecutive card at Belmont Park, resulting in a monster carryover of $540,334 entering Friday's card.

The wager has not been hit since last Saturday.

Most of the pick-six players chasing the $201,379 carryover entering Thursday's card were eliminated when Mondo Diverso ($64.50) won the second leg of the wager, an off-the turf claming race. He was followed by longshot All the Way Home ($23.60). Though favorites Jet Setting ($5.20) and Formal Decree ($5.20) won the next two legs, the carryover was guaranteed when Je Suis Sheikh ($29) won the the nightcap. There were only two live tickets entering the last leg.

There were 47 consolation tickets (5 of 6) that each returned $2,380.

The pick-six on Friday begins with race 4 (2:36 p.m. eastern post) and includes four turf races. Both turf courses were labeled yielding Thursday.
