Believe You Can becomes the second Kentucky Oaks winner cataloged for this year's Fasig-Tipton November sale.

Believe You Can, the winner of the 2012 Kentucky Oaks, will be offered in foal to leading sire Tapit at the upcoming Fasig-Tipton Kentucky fall selected mixed sale on Nov. 3.

The 5-year-old Proud Citizen mare will be consigned by Brereton Jones’ Airdrie Stud, which bred and campaigned her. The foal she is carrying will be her first.

Believe You Can becomes the second Kentucky Oaks winner who will sell at this year's Fasig-Tipton November auction, joining 2013 victress Princess of Sylmar.

Believe You Can won eight of 14 starts during her on-track career for earnings of $1,280,324. In addition to her classic win, Believe You Can won the Grade 2 Fair Grounds Oaks, the Grade 3 Tempted Stakes, and the listed New Orleans Ladies Stakes, Silverbulletday Stakes, and Tiffany Lass Stakes. She also placed in the Grade 1 Mother Goose Stakes.

“When you look at the honor roll of fillies to have won the Kentucky Oaks, and couple it with her being in foal to Tapit, the hottest sire at stud in North America, it is obviously a high privilege for us to offer Believe You Can for Airdrie,” said Fasig-Tipton President Boyd Browning Jr. “We are excited that as one of the most significant Thoroughbred offerings of 2014, she joins an exclusive cast for our sale on Nov. 3.”

Believe You Can is out of the unraced El Prado mare El Fasto, who is the dam of five winners from six foals to race. She is from the family of Grade 2 winners Classic Elegance and Rush Bay, and Grade 3 winners Chorwon and Basket Weave.

The most recent Kentucky Oaks winner to sell at public auction was 2011 winner Plum Pretty, who sold for $4.2 million at the 2012 Keeneland November breeding stock sale. Six winners of the filly classic have fetched multimillion dollar price tags in the last two decades.
