B.C. future bet lines set

NEW YORK - The field has been made the morning-line favorite for both the Breeders' Cup future bets, which will be offered this weekend beginning Friday at 1 p.m. Eastern.

The field for the Juvenile was made the 5-1 morning-line favorite, while the field for the Juvenile Fillies was listed at 4-1. Morning-line odds were set by Mike Watchmaker, the national handicapper of the Daily Racing Form.

Among individuals in the Juvenile pool, Sky Mesa, winner of the Hopeful Stakes at Saratoga on Aug. 31, is the lowest-priced horse, at 6-1, followed by Vindication, winner of the Kentucky Cup Juvenile on Saturday at Turfway Park, who is 8-1.

For the fillies, the lowest-priced individual horse is Storm Flag Flying, winner of the Matron Stakes on Saturday at Belmont Park, who was made 6-1. Awesome Humor, winner of the Spinaway Stakes, was made 8-1.

Breeders' Cup will offer future betting on 23 individual horses in each pool. The field bet includes all other 2-year-olds in the country. Bets are to win only, and no refunds will be issued. Betting will close on Sunday at 7 p.m. Eastern.

The Juvenile and Juvenile Fillies future-bet pools will be the final installments of the Breeders' Cup future wager, which has been offered three previous times this year.
