Baze filly back to face elders again

AUBURN, Wash. - Thatsthewayluvgoes will shoot for her fifth win at the stand when she takes on six older rivals in Sunday's top offering at Emerald Downs, a 5 1/2-furlong race for fillies and mares under $25,000 optional claiming conditions.

A 3-year-old trained by Robbie Baze, Thatsthewayluvgoes opened the meeting with three straight wins in 3-year-old claiming sprints, with the second and third scores coming against $17,500 foes. She then went unplaced in three starts against allowance rivals before Baze dropped her in against older $20,000 claimers in her last start Aug. 24. Thatsthewayluvgoes responded with a three-quarter-length victory over Bold Tizzy, finishing 5 1/2 furlongs in 1:04.20. That was her fourth win from eight starts at 5 1/2 furlongs, her best distance. Sandi Gann will ride at 115 pounds.

Bold Tizzy will be back to take another crack at Thatstheway-

luvgoes. Though outdueled last time, Bold Tizzy has won 7 of her 20 career starts, and she seems a snug fit at both the level and the distance of Sunday's feature. A 6-year-old, Bold Tizzy has not been worse than fourth in six starts at the stand, and she defeated $20,000 claimers going 6 1/2 furlongs here in June. Leading rider Kevin Radke has the mount.

Also dangerous is Beautify, who has posted two wins over $25,000 rivals at this meeting. Beautify has not raced since July 21, but she has worked extremely well. Juan Gutierrez will ride.
