Bay Shore: Lost in the Fog scores

As expected, Lost in the Fog toyed with five rivals, going gate to wire under Russell Baze to win the Grade 3, $150,000 by 4 1/4 lengths over White Socks. It was one length back to Big Top Cat in third.

It was the fifth victory in as many starts for Lost in the Fog, a 3-year-old son of Lost Soldier owned by Harry Aleo and trained by Greg Gilchrist.

Not that Lost in the Fog needed the help, but Aqueduct's track was favoring speed. Lost in the Fog, breaking from the rail, assumed command, and maintained a half-length advantage over Big Top Cat through fractions of 22.62 seconds and 45.39 before drawing clear in the stretch.

Lost in the Fog ($2.30) covered the seven furlongs in 1:21.33.

Gilchrist said Lost in the Fog would return to northern California on Tuesday and run in the $150,000 Golden Bear Breeders' Cup Handicap, a six-furlong race for 3-year-olds at Golden Gate Fields on May 14. Gilchrist said Lost in the Fog would probably return to New York for the Riva Ridge on June 11.
