SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - Reigning Eclipse Award-winning trainer Chad Brown was honored Tuesday night by the Tri-City Valley Cats, a minor league affiliate of the Houston Astros who play in the New York-Penn League. The Valley Cats held a Chad Brown bobblehead night, and Brown, a native of nearby Mechanicsville, threw out the ceremonial first pitch.

Brown said he played center field in high school.

“I just wanted to make sure I didn’t throw one in the dirt and fortunately I was able to throw a high strike, right at the letters,” said Brown with a laugh. “It was really a great night. The team couldn’t have treated me better. I had my kids and other family there, and I even got to see a lot of the guys from my old high school who showed up for the night that I probably haven’t seen in 10 years.”
