Barnett running two of his best

ETOBICOKE, Ontario - Trainer Earl Barnett will run both of his stakes-winning females on Friday's Woodbine card. You Will Love Me will contest the third race, an allowance prep for the Aug. 16 Victoriana Stakes, which is scheduled for a mile on the grass. He'll run Anne's Purse in the eighth, a seven-furlong optional claimer on the Polytrack.

You Will Love Me captured last year's Victoriana with a Beyer Figure of 83. That was her lone score during her seven-race 2008 campaign, during which she also finished a close second in both the Algoma and Classy 'N Smart Stakes.

This year, You Will Love Me finished sixth and fifth in the Ballade and Sweet Briar Too stakes. Eurico Da Silva retains the mount on the four-time stakes winner, who has compiled just over $500,000 in earnings.

The Malcolm Pierce-trained duo of Much Obliged and Remarkable Remy are also in the Victoriana prep.

Much Obliged will likely be favored off her June 5 victory in a third-level allowance/$80,000 optional claimer on the grass, for which she received a 91 Beyer.

Much Obliged won last year's American 1000 Guineas in May at Arlington, which came a start before she was beaten a neck while second in the Grade 3 Boiling Springs Stakes at Monmouth.

Remarkable Remy is winless since her impressive victory in the Pebbles Stakes last October at Belmont. She was seventh in both of her starts at this meet, in the Grade 2 Nassau and the Repercussion Stakes.

Scenery Change finished ninth in her lone appearance here in the May 30 Nassau. Her last tally came in a Dec. 14 optional claimer at Calder.

Rounding out the field are Emma Ain't Bluffin and Tenjectory.

Anne's Purse is eligible for the second-level allowance condition in the eighth race. Anne's Purse romped in the first two starts of her career in the spring of last year, including in the seven-furlong Lady Angela Stakes. She subsequently placed in both the Ontario Damsel and Passing Mood stakes before taking the second half of 2008 off. When she resurfaced off an 11-month layoff June 26, Anne's Purse led throughout a 6 1/2-furlong Ontario-sired allowance, earning an 85 Beyer.

The eighth-race entrants who will run with a claiming tag of either $62,500 or $60,000 are Knocker, Sweetdetermination, and Bedarra.

Knocker is coming off a subpar effort, but she registered a 95 Beyer in her easy win at this level in May.
