Barkley Sound gets up

Email

Always prominent under Enrique Jurado, Barkley Sound rallied outside pacesetter Steelix through the final furlong and came away with a hard-earned one-length win in the $60,000 Pasco Stakes.

Trained by Joan Scott, Barkley Sound remained undefeated in three outings with his Pasco win and probably earned a spot in the $150,000 Sam F. Davis Stakes with the victory.

Steelix, who rushed to the front going into the turn after being roughed up leaving the gate, held on to save the place by a length over Dippi Trippi with All I Can Get finishing fourth. Favored Got the Last Laugh ran fifth in an even effort.

Barkley Sound returned $7.20 as the second betting choice and earned $42,500.
