Bandbox entering stud in Maryland for 2015

Bandbox, a Grade 3-winning son of leading sire Tapit, will enter stud in 2015 at Northview Stallion Station in Chesapeake City, Md.

The 6-year-old, who is currently available for inspection at the farm, will stand for an advertised fee of $2,500.

Bandbox retires with five wins from 15 career starts and earnings of $390,345. Appropriately, many of his top performances came in the Mid-Atlantic region, as he won this year's Grade 3 General George Handicap at Laurel, and finished second in the Grade 3 Maryland Sprint Handicap at Pimlico in 2012. Overall, he won or placed in seven stakes events.

Bandbox, bred in New York, is out of the unraced Grand Slam mare Empty the Bases, dam of three winners from as many starters.
