Balmoral: Wednesday 11/27 Analysis

Best Bet (57 - 120 / $201.60): LU LU KUHN (1ST)

Spot Play: GET GOIN MEL (5TH)

Race 1

(4) LU LU KUHN was much better than her line looks last out after racing wide most of the mile.  The 4-year-old pacer is probably worth a claim and lays over the field on ability.  (5) JOLTING JEN ships in from Pennsylvania and finds much easier competition.  (6) STAGE STAR faces older but has been getting better with each of her last few starts.

Race 2

In a weak and inconsistent field, (8) JETTING AROUND makes her second start in a new barn and comes off a nice qualifier.  (6) JUST ONE DANCE makes her career debut off a winning qualifier and could be sitting on a good effort.  (7) SB BETTYS IDEAL is 0-fer her career but is finally figuring out how to race; threat.

Race 3

(8) PAIN RELIEF went a huge effort being used aggressively last race despite coming right off a five month layoff.  (6) KEYSTONE CAMARO makes his first start in a new barn and shows some ability in a suspect field.  (3) TOPVILLE SUNNYDAY will look to make it two in a row after going 0 for 31, but did parlay a perfect trip last out; command a price.

Race 4

(5) KISS ME I’M LOADED beat a nice winner who drew off against a better field recently.  The gelding looks to make it four wins in five starts; fires early.  (6) TIME TO QUIT just raced evenly last out but has trotted some decent miles in the past.  (3) POWER OF JUSTICE gets a big trainer change and has some ability.

Race 5

(1) GET GOIN MEL draws the rail in a weak field and gets sent out for new owners.  (6) L A CAMCHARGER has been better as of late but still comes up short when it counts.  (7) DOMINANT KING could be a player if he can stay pacing.

Race 6

In a field with few contenders, (4) JUSTHAVENTMETUYET should offer a better price and probably has the most upside in the race.  The filly has been driven very hard in her last two and could use a smooth trip.  (6) WINGS comes off two straight victories and beat the top choice last out.  (9) SEEYOUATTHEFINISH couldn’t get out in time to get the win, but could be the sleeper in the race especially with a fast pace up front.

Race 7

(8) JB OUI OUI could be the horse to beat if he races back to his two prior starts.  (7) ROMPAWAY BEAU faces much easier competition, gets a huge driver change and owns a ton of back class.  (1) EVIL URGES draws the rail and will probably try and be on the lead or in the pocket.

Race 8

(9) SEXY CARD SHARK has been on fire and this field is softer than the one she faced in her victory.  (10) RYLEIGH‘S LILLY has recently turned a corner but could be too far back with dull cover if he doesn’t try and float for position. (1) EDITA HANOVER makes her first start in a new barn and could be sitting on an improved effort.

Race 9

(10) DAVE’S BID looks to be better than the field if he can work out a decent trip.  (8) LOOK MA NO HANDS has put in some nice efforts in recent starts but would need more to beat the top choice.  (5) JO JO SPUR fit the class nicely and does have the ability to pace a good mile at anytime.

Race 10

(2) COCOTIER has started to blossom after a few issues earlier in the year.  The well bred 3-year-old gets the post edge on the field.  (9) MYSTICAL DEW has some positives despite not having a win on the year.  The trotter has make over 200k lifetime, adds lasix for the first time and will be facing a much softer field.  (4) MONTICELLO LANE goes for a new barn, has been very competitive this year and might have needed his last start.

Race 11

In a really inconsistent field, (1) LOVERS HOLIDAY tried to roll the dice up front last time, which isn’t her game.  The pacer is best from the back and should be in a good spot off the pace turning for home.  (9) IGRAINE could be a nice price play and has paced faster miles than most of the field.  (2) KISS ME FIRST got a win against basically the same field last out; threat.

Race 12

(2) EARTHLY DESIRE has been finishing her miles at the big track nicely; fires late.  (3) MCNICE faces much softer competition and could be in line for a ground-saving trip before shaking loose late.  (4) WHATA SMOOTHIE went a big effort last out at a monster price. Should the filly improve off that effort she could definitely hit the ticket.
