Balmoral: Sunday 5/10 Analysis

Race 7 - $25,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

Best Bet (19 - 26 / $72.40): RED SOLO CUP (1st)

Spot Play: CANT CATCH KEY (4th)

Race 1

(7) RED SOLO CUP well bred stallion will crush this field if he stays trotting.  (6) PINSTRIPE PLAYER owns some ability and faces a soft bunch besides the top choice.  (5) BB WHISTLE mare just raced evenly last out; use underneath.

Race 2

(3) NANCYS SKYSCAPE was the driver's choice and has been facing much tougher.  (1) FOX VALLEY HOTSTUF gelding gets the best post and will be forwardly placed; threat.  (2) BEST CLASS pacer put in a good effort last week and probably needed the start.

Race 3

(4) EASTER TEKA mare came back strong and should be primed for an improved effort third start back off a long layoff against softer.  (3) MYSTICAL WISHES was thrown to the wolves last out against the best trotting mares in the country.  The 4-year-old is back in where she can compete and owns a big burst of speed when timed right.  (7) BAILEY'S WISH mare makes her second start back against an easier field but still could need a start; command price.

Race 4

(3) CAN'T CATCH KEY filly looks to have a lot of talent and paced a huge mile in her career debut.  (8) SNEACRET HANOVER impeccably bred pacer appears to be getting better but needs a smooth trip.  (1) SPORTY PROJECT should have had more late last out but does get an ideal post with options.

Race 5

(1) MR LELAND'S FILLY did not look very good last out making a break, however the freshman champ was lights out in her first effort back.  (7) FOX VALLEY AUBRY has the look of a serious contender in the division and was loaded with pace off a perfect trip last week.  (2) LEX filly got another soft half last start but couldn't hold off the pocket sitter.  The pacer has talent but might be in the pocket or from off the pace.

Race 6

(4) LC'SNMOTION filly gets her first big test of the year and will need to improve off a nice effort.  (3) BI POLAR ROSE was an easy winner in her second start back and probably has more to offer. (5) MEABH is a very fast filly but is prone to miscues; use caution.

Race 7

(2) KIMBERLY R has some question marks coming off a scratch but was an easy winner last time in for a tag.  (5) YES WE DID was the top driver's choice and paced a good mile last start.  (4) AUBSESSION is bumping up in class and probably needs more to hit the top spot.

Race 8

(2) LITTLE MISS TORIE will be very tough to beat with a similar effort to her career debut.  (10) DUNESIDE PERTTIE faces a much easier bunch but needs to find a way into the race; threat.  (6) BS TYRICHESS closed nicely from a tough spot last out and has some upside.

Race 9

(8) BENNS SCORE KEEPER got an acclimating mile over the track last out after shipping from down south.  The seven-year-old trotter has a good history at this level.  (3) CLEVER UPSTART looks to be primed for a good effort and was the driver's choice.  (9) QUIET HALL is likely just looking for a solid race from off the pace making his first start off the year against older; use underneath.

Race 10

In a really weak and inconsistent field full of question marks (3) FOX VALLEY ZIP gets a suspect pilot but can improve at a price in his second start of the year.  (5) STEUBEN GUNSMOKE colt gets sent out for a capable trainer but needs a good steer from a provisional driver.  (4) BB SHERMAN has just been racing evenly but did come close at this level the start prior; threat.
