Balmoral: Sunday 4/6 Analysis

Race 7 - $20,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

Best Bet (5-6 / $23.60): FOX VALLEY ARROW (6TH)

Race 1

(6) IGETAGOODFEELING kicked home nicely in his second qualifier and has some upside.   (1) VAL’S WAY finally gets a good post to work with and has been progressing nicely.  (4) CYBER GAL should be tight after a long time off and owns a good burst of speed.

Race 2

(3) CARDINAL WIND could be the horse to beat if he minds his manners; threat.  (1) SIPPY CUP really turned it around last start and looks to be dangerous in a weak field.  (2) VIN has had some issues but looks to be heading in the right direction.

Race 3

(7) ARROYA BLUE CHIP already owns a win against a better field at the track.  The well bred filly just needs a smooth trip.  (3) A TANGIBLE LEASE should have had more late last time out.  The mare gets a good post in an inconsistent field.  (6) LITTLE WARRIORETTE parlayed a perfect trip last start but will need to show much more to compete at the big track.

Race 4

(7) DRIVEN BY DESTINY should offer a big price in a wide open race.  The mare needed her last effort and should move forward in her third start back off a layoff.  (3) FOX VALLEY TRINITY came first up against this bunch last race but lacked pop; command a price.  (2) FRONTIER FANNIE has now put in two efforts in a row showing good pace on both ends of the mile, but faces slightly tougher.

Race 5

(7) THISISHOWIROLL faces a much easier field than his last.  The gelding will be tough to catch with any repeat of his last two efforts.  (6) FORTUNE DOR will need more to pick off the top choice but has been racing gamely.  (5) BS EMILY’S SAILOR will probably fire for position and looks to be in line for a good trip.

Race 6

In a field with few contenders (3) FOX VALLEY ARROW takes a huge drop in class and looks tough to beat.  (4) POWERFUL SPEED looks to have the only chance to snap the favorite, but will have to step his game up.  (1) WOLF CREEK PASS gets a good post to save some ground; use underneath.

Race 7

(5) SEEYOUATTHEFINISH needs to bring her best effort because the field is tougher than her last.  The pacer has been sharp and really likes a target to chase.  (1A) RYLEIGH’S LILLY adds Lasix for the second time, comes off a nice qualifier, and would be the horse to beat if she had a start under her belt; fires late.  (8) T E’S ZENYATTA had a really bad trip last start and needs an ideal setup to sweep past late.

Race 8

(7) BIG CITY JEWEL showed wicked closing ability in his debut and looks to be a good one.   (4) SPEED RACER also looks to have some talent and adds Lasix for the first time; threat.  (1A) BO’S SO HOT has shown a good burst of speed and looks to be improving with every start.

Race 9

In a tough field to handicap, (2) LADY LAKERS has lots of room for improvement in her second start back.  (5) LEANMEAN NORMAJEAN usually pops off a good mile from time to time at a big price and finds a soft spot.  (8) CAMS SAHBRA does have the ability to upset the field but needs some racing luck.

Race 10

(4) MOON BAY DANCER didn’t race as well last out but could secure a pocket trip early, making her dangerous late.  (2) ITS A SHAM went a game effort first time out for new connections.  (6) MISSCHIPBYART raced really well last start; threat.
