Balmoral: Sunday 4/13 Analysis

Race 7 - $25,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

Best Bet (6 - 8 / $26.40): RYLEIGH’S LILLY (7th)

Spot Play: BARUS HYBRID ROSE (9th)

Race 1

(1) ALWAYS A ROMANCE came up empty on a wet track at Hoosier.  The filly has some upside in the race and just needs to race back to her start prior.  (5) SECONDS LATER sophomore pacer also has some upside, was the driver's choice, and has been getting better with every start.  (3) SECTIONLINE ALTO filly makes her first start off a layoff and looks to have ability.

Race 2

(4) S V SPIRIT was exceptionally good in the qualifier and shouldn't have much traffic to navigate in the short field.  (3) FOX VALLEY SKYLAR made a good chunk of change last year and is a threat to score first start off the bench.  (2) GREEN ACRES filly trotter adds lasix for the first time and has shown closing ability.

Race 3

(8) STAGE STAR makes her second start back off a layoff and put in a nice first effort.  The favorite in the race looks vulnerable and this is a candidate to upset.  (6) ARROYA BLUE CHIP well bred filly pacer was extremely disappointing last out getting everything her own way.  (4) A TANGIBLE LEASE finds a really weak and inconsistent field but would need to do better to hit the top spot.

Race 4

(1) BAND OF PEARLS was flying out of the gate before making a break.  The trotter did get back in the race and made another move before fading.  The 4-year-old gets the best post, makes her third start back off a layoff, and would be dangerous if she stays trotting.  (6) CARDINAL WIND has the most talent and ability but could be at the mercy of a slow pace.  (4) DONTSTRYKEME scored his first victory last out off a perfect trip; command a price.

Race 5

(2) KIMBERLY R was the driver's choice and should be much better second start back.  (5) ARTS-ROCKSTAR mare has a good burst of speed and should also move forward after a couple of starts under her belt.  (1) MELODIE HOTSPUR made the most money in the field last year and gets sent out for a trainer that has them ready off the bench; threat.

Race 6

(1) BIG BAD BOB gelding is a question mark because of the time off and only one qualifier, however he probably has the most upside in the race.  (5) MISS BELLA mare has been trotting faster than most of the field and gets a big driver change.  (4) SO PHOTOGENIC mare has been consistently trotting good miles; threat.

Race 7

(5) RYLEIGH'S LILLY raced super off the bench just missing after kicking home nicely.  (1) DEE DEE SAGE mare owns some back class and looks to be rounding into form.  (4) CARNOUSTIE four-year-old pacer went from racing gamely to empty last out but has the ability to hit the ticket.

Race 8

(1) NO FEAR NO DOUBT faces much easier competition, draws the best post, and looks tough to beat with a similar effort of his last few races.  (3) CJ OTT scored at a nice price last out after showing a big burst of speed.  The pacer has shown versatility and should be able to save ground before shaking loose late.  (7) BS EMILY'S SAILOR was an easy winner last out but faces a slightly better field.

Race 9

(2) BARUS HYBRID ROSE mare probably won't offer the huge price she did last out but raced gamely just missing.  The 5-year-old had shown lots of ability last year before some kinks and could finally be heading in the right direction.  (6)  ONE LOUD DING rarely wins but has been knocking on the door.  (3) FRONTIER FANNIE mare should probably be used on the bottom of your tickets but does find a wide open race.

Race 10

(8) LOFTY NATIVE has been used aggressively in his last two efforts.  The pacer should offer a better price after burning cash last race and might be better suited coming from the back.  (2) HOLY MCMOSES did pace a good mile last out but is still winless in his last thirty-two starts.  The gelding looks to offer no value and always seems to find a way to lose.  (4) EDEN WAY could be primed for a better effort with second-time lasix.
