Balmoral: Saturday 9/27 Analysis

Race 10 - $20,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

Best Bet (38 - 73 / $152.40): TIMEWELL (3rd)

Spot Play: MADOFF (13th)

Race 1

(5) MAJESTIC ROYALE has been dominant in this barn at this level and was much the best last out; short price.  (1) WESTERN SLAMMER is inconsistent from week to week but could hit the ticket with a good effort.   (8) DAVE'S BID has some question marks coming off a scratch and a dull effort, however the connections are always a threat.

Race 2

(5) JETTING AROUND just missed last out from a tough post and is sharp.  (6) SEA WATCHER mare picks up the top driver and has also been sharp despite tiring late in her last two.  (9) PARKLANE GLITTER two-year-old faces older but has a ton of upside.

Race 3

(5) TIMEWELL veteran pacer drops to the bottom class and will be used very aggressively after having just beat better the start prior.  (7) MASTER JEEVES could be sitting on a big effort for a high percentage barn.   (10) PUT TO THE TEST also takes a significant drop and just needs to find a way into the race; threat.

Race 4

(10) VICTORIA IVY well bred filly adds lasix for the first time and will offer a big price.  The trainer has brought in some eye-popping winners recently.  (7) FOX VALLEY FLORA seems to be her own worst enemy most of the time but is on the cusp of a breakthrough.  (9) SANDCASTLE GIRL should probably be considered the horse to beat but will need an aggressive drive; command a price.

Race 5

(3) IAM BONASERA self destructed last out after being pushed to keep up into a blazing fast pace.  The pace won't be nearly as fast this week and the price should be much better.  (5) TIME TO ROLL picks back up the better driver and will be winging early.  (2) BIG BRAD four-year-old stallion is a really nice pacer and has shown heart the past few weeks but is best used underneath.

Race 6

(4) ITZ ALIVE was sneaky sharp last out first start off a long layoff.  The trotter needs a lot of racing luck but will offer a giant price and could have more to offer second start back.  (3) COLLECT CALL gelding has made the most money on the year by far but was very dull last out.   (1) B FLY MCQUEEN should be much more competitive against this bunch.

Race 7

In a wide open and evenly matched race (4) ROCKIN RUMBLE picks up a good driver change and will have a shot at a price if he stays pacing.  (2) FOX VALLEY VAN was the driver's choice over the morning line favorite; threat.  (3) MISTER VIRGIN gelding is sitting on a big mile and just needs a smooth trip.

Race 8

(7) HEATH drops in for a tag and finds a weak and inconsistent field.  (4) CAMWISER bumps down in class and will offer good value.  (10) GALACTIC STAR will be blasting off the gate and is dangerous with any kind of early breather up front.

Race 9

(7) RYLEIGH'S LILLY mare owns a big late kick and just needs a fast pace to close into; fires late.  (8) LOVE THIS PLACE came up empty last out as the favorite but will likely be much more involved early.  (3) WHISTLE PIG mare has been inconsistent lately but a prior effort puts her in the mix.

Race 10

(4) TINK AND TIGER finds a softer bunch and has beaten better on the year. (2) FURIOUS FRANK raced super last out and will be tough to deny with a similar effort.  (9) MAJOR STARLIGHT pacer will offer a huge price, needed his last start, and has a big effort in him one of these weeks.

Race 11

(6) ICE SCRAPER pacer went a huge effort last out and just needs to ration out his speed early; vulnerable late. (3) BIG DADDY WOO WOO faces a much softer bunch and should be in a good spot to save some ground before shaking loose late.  (9) MAJOR MONET will be blasting for position and could also be in a good spot turning for home.

Race 12

(2) ALWAYS THE SUN raced well last out and should offer a good price in an evenly matched race.  (10) KINGOFTHEJUNGLE well bred sophomore will be looking to get a good prep in before the American Nationals.  (3) SPORTY GYPSY gelding is capable of much better than what he shows on paper.

Race 13

(1) MADOFF takes a significant drop in class, gets the best post, and just needs a smooth trip for a big chance.  (4) SVAYA KNOWS broke last out but was sharp prior; threat.  (3) FOX VALLEY CUPID parlayed a perfect trip last out but rarely wins; use underneath.
