Balmoral: Saturday 6/8 Analysis

Race 7 - $20,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

Best Bet (31 - 57 / $107.20): LB’S ALAMERICANJOY (4TH)

Spot Play: OLD MAN RIVER (9TH)

Race 1

(7) BEACHSIDE BUNGALOW didn’t miss by much last out after being far back early.  Gelding does his best work from off the pace and could use fast fractions up front to close into.  (5) HE‘S SHORE TAN faces younger and put in a good rally last start making up a lot of ground late.  (9) METRO LAD will probably offer low value but is making his second start back off a layoff and has a ton of upside.

Race 2

(4) BIG BRAD went a monster effort last out after lagging the gate and beat a solid field.   (2) FOX VALLEY ACTION was roughed up last out before tiring late; threat.  (3) DARTH QUAIDER should be in an ideal spot turning for home in this short field; use underneath.

Race 3

(1) ITZ ALIVE raced evenly last out but draws the rail in a soft field.  (9) MAPLEGROVE SHAELYN is the fastest trotter in the race by far but could need a start.  (6) DRY CREEK FLING looked like a new horse last out. He dominated and could have turned a corner.  Four-year-old could be a huge threat with some racing luck.

Race 4

(6) LB’S ALAMERICANJOY could be putting it all together after crushing last out in wire to wire fashion; short price.  (1) SAGE RUCK draws the rail, picks up a top driver and looks to be involved early.  (5) MATT THE BRUISER put in a solid effort after a layoff and is versatile in a short field.

Race 5

In a very average and inconsistent field, (4) FULL STEAM AHEAD put in a huge effort last out racing gamely and just needs to ration out his speed up front.  (2) LD‘S DASH always seems to hit the board but rarely wins.  (7) SPECIALLY SPORTY made a change in equipment a few starts ago and has been much better.  Four-year-old should be considered a threat in a field with few contenders.

Race 6

(7) CJ‘S TERROR just hasn’t had any racing luck, especially last out where she was taken completely out of the race by a breaker.  Six-year-old finds a soft field and will be firing late.  (3) WINSPIRATIONAL is a well bred mare that looks to fit this class nicely and raced very well in her last start at Maywood.  (8) GIMMEAZZZMOOCH seems to race better when forwardly placed but was just even last out.  Three-year-old needs to find a way into the race early for her best chance.

Race 7

(6) BEST MAN HANOVER dominated last out off the drop and now moves back up to find a very soft invitational field; fires early.  (5) THUNDER STEELER looks to be the only threat to the top choice but needs someone to press the pace up front.   (4) LENNOX BLUE CHIP raced gamely last out to the top choice but would need more.

Race 8

(1) JUSTLIVINTHEDREAM is hard to pick against as he has dominated with ease since the claim; short price.   (7) WOLFIES SPORTSTER has been a big disappointment. He has the ability but doesn’t want to do it; use underneath.  (6) HE WILL ROCK YOU was sharp off the layoff just couldn’t close on the top choice last out.

Race 9

(6) OLD MAN RIVER was deceptively good last out and probably needed the start; big chance. It’s very hard to gauge (4) HEATH because there looks to be some conflict of interest with the driver choices.  The top driver chooses off after being razor sharp flying home in his last two and opts for a long shot; use caution.  (2) RICHESS EMPEROR has all the ability and could be a huge threat should a speed duel take place up front.

Race 10

(6) LOVE THIS PLACE went a big trip last out first-up gunning down the leaders.  A repeat of that effort makes it two straight.  (8) PARTY HANGOVER couldn’t parlay a perfect trip second-up behind the top choice last out, but is just now racing herself back into shape; threat.  (1) MYSTICAL VICTRESS would have jogged on this field last year but seems to be off her game recently; command a price.

Race 11

(7) ARCH VILLAIN has been used very aggressively in his last few and raced gamely.  Six-year-old should offer a price and just needs a smooth trip.  (8) ONE LAST CHACNE also should offer a price in a wide open field; versatile.  (6) MADOFF set a lifetime mark last out and didn’t even break a sweat; threat.

Race 12

(5) WINDSUN MONTECARLO saved ground before kicking it in late for the victory and finds a similar field.  (7) CHINA GAL has a lot of back-class and just needs to find a way to be closer turning for home; threat.  (1) STARDOM BOUND was the driver’s choice in the race, draws the rail and put in a big effort last out.

Race 13

(7) MAJOR MALE drops in class, gets a great post and is versatile.  (9) DRIVE ‘EM COWBOY is racing much better than his lines show and should offer a big price in an evenly matched race.  (5) SHISWELL’S DELIGHT has just been racing evenly but does appear to be pacing faster than most of the field.
