Balmoral: Saturday 5/10 Analysis

Race 10 - $20,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool

Best Bet (13 - 18 / $52.80): MAJOR MONET (9th)

Spot Play: ALWAYS THE SUN (5th)

Race 1

(6) FOX VALLEY IVAN raced huge last out and has really turned it around in his last two.  (7) CATMANDO used to be better than this class; the pacer just needs a smooth trip.  (2) JITTERBUG JACK has some closing ability against a very weak and inconsistent field.

Race 2

(6) ALWAYS A FIGHTER gelding was off in his start before the scratch.  The pacer is better than the field when he's right.  (7) HEATH drops in class, was the driver's choice, and needed his last effort; threat.  (5) MY BOY CAL has just been racing evenly and has had a very slow start to the year; needs more.

Race 3

In a tough race to gauge (7) ZUMBA mare has the ability to beat this group and is versatile.  (6) SLEAZY DOES IT looks like a good choice on paper but the mare rarely wins; command a price.   (4) LEANMEAN NORMAJEAN drops in class, but has been very dull; use underneath.

Race 4

(1) SARA THE SPY takes a big hike down the class ladder, gets the best post, and should be ready to fire.  (6) B FLY MCQUEEN mare is also ready to pop and should be much better second start back.   (8) HERE'S JOHNNY impeccably bred trotter has lacked stamina late but is still a threat in the short field.

Race 5

(2) ALWAYS THE SUN really flashed a big late kick from a tough spot last out and should offer a nice price in a wide open race.  (1) MAJOR STARLIGHT gets sent out for a trainer that usually sends them to the track sharp.  (4) SLEAZEBURGERNFRIES well bred colt is undefeated but will get a big test against much better.

Race 6

In a really weak field (5) DIFFERENCE MAKER has burned cash in two straight but gets sent out for a barn that has been on fire.  (1) SUNSET DREAMER gelding has a big-time pedigree but has yet to show much ability; command a price.  (3) DECKED OUT DUNE lightly raced pacer has some room to improve against a soft field.

Race 7

(8) WESTERN DEAL gelding has been better than his lines show and finds a spot to make some noise with a good trip.  (4) ELKHORN DAMIEN veteran pacer is racking up wins with ease and is tough to go against despite offering low value.  (6) ALLAMERICAN SOLO always has excuses and seems to pace up a storm late; use underneath.

Race 8

(1) AUNIQUEAQUISTION if the well bred pacer is geared up its lights out but the 4-year-old could need another start after a long layoff. (1a) SCHMATIE dusted a similar field the start prior and has a lot of ability.  (7) STATE STREET LIZ is capable of pulling off the upset but needs an ideal setup; use underneath.

Race 9

(1) MAJOR MONET gets the best post, has big time gate speed, and will either be on the lead or in the pocket.  (7) ST ELMO HERO gelding makes his first start off the year and owns a ton of back class.  When the pacer is on his game he's tough to stop.  (3) REAL OR MAGIC has been sharp the last two starts and could be an outside threat.

Race 10

(1a) RYLEIGH'S LILLY mare can pace up a storm late and just needs some pace to close into; fires late.  (6) SEEYOUATTHEFINISH mare is sharp and will also be charging hard late.  (3) DALLAS JONES gets a good post against much easier competition; threat.

Race 11

(8) BRIEF'S BOY gets a good driver change and should offer a big price in an evenly matched race.  (6) OLD MAN RIVER is a threat in this class but has been hit or miss so far this year.  (5) HOLY CHIP is winless on the year but has been knocking on the door.

Race 12

(4) STAGE STAR was an easy winner at a great price for a new barn last out.  The nice looking filly should only improve.   (5) ONE LOUD DING has been racing gamely and will be firing for position early.   (7) ARROYA BLUE CHIP looks to offer low value and has the same ability as the top two choices.

Race 13

(5) BC'S CHIEF will offer a monster price, makes his third start back, and could be sitting on a much better effort.  (2) PERFORMING NIGHTLY was a game winner off the layoff.  The pacer does bump up in class but looks to have more.  (6) HOLY MCMOSES was shuffled last out but had been sharp prior.
