Bailey to work at Gulf only

MIAMI - Dave Bailey has resigned his post as racing secretary at Arlington Park to accept a year-round position as Gulfstream Park's director of racing and racing secretary.

Bailey, who served 12 years at Arlington Park, has occupied dual posts as racing secretary at Arlington and Gulfstream on a seasonal basis since 2001.

"We were pleased to learn that Bailey no longer had a commitment at Arlington that would prevent him from expanding his role at Gulfstream," said Scott Savin, Gulfstream Park's president and general manager, on announcing Bailey's move.

Bailey said he had no regrets about leaving Arlington and is looking forward to his new year-round position at Gulfstream.

"I had a good stay at Arlington and ended my career there with a Breeders' Cup," said Bailey, who has been a racing official at Gulfstream since 1979.

"By working at Gulfstream year-round it will afford me a better opportunity to prepare for our meets during the down time than when I was spending the summers working at Arlington."
