Axmaker has two for sprint

AUBURN, Wash. - Trainer Pete Axmaker will send out two of the six horses in Friday's Emerald Downs feature, a 5 1/2 furlong affair for 3-year-old fillies eligible to be claimed for $25,000 to $20,000.

Axmaker will saddle One for You, who races for Coal Creek Farm, and She'sonmymind, who races for Webjorn and Solgunn Eikrem. Because they have different owners, the two fillies will race uncoupled.

One for You, a twin daughter of Dayjur and Katherine Jean, appears to be the speed of Friday's field. One for You led throughout to down maiden special weight company here in May, and she helped to show the way against $25,000 company in her last two tries before tiring to finish out of the money. One for You should benefit from the abbreviated distance of Friday's feature, as she led into the stretch at 6 1/2 furlongs in her most recent outing.

Leading rider Ricky Frazier, who rode both of the Axmaker trainees in their last start, will be aboard She'sonmymind Friday. She'sonmymind, a daughter of He's Tops, is coming off a win over $25,000 maidens on Aug. 19, when she got 5 1/2 furlongs in 1:05.80 to prevail by a length. That was just the second career start for She'sonmymind, who might be expected to improve again.

Among the top threats to the Axmaker-trained duo are Sin City Slew, who is coming off a pair of thirds against $25,000 company, and Strong Faith.
