Awesome Patriot to shuttle to Chile for Southern Hemisphere season

Awesome Patriot, a Grade 3-placed stakes-winning half brother to 2013 Preakness Stakes winner Oxbow, will shuttle to Haras Santa Sara in Santiago, Chile, for the 2014 Southern Hemisphere breeding season.

The 6-year-old son of Awesome Again recently completed his first season at stud at Spendthrift Farm in Lexington, Ky., where he stood for an advertised fee of $3,500. His Southern Hemisphere fee has yet to be determined.

Awesome Patriot won three of seven starts during his on-track career for earnings of $114,600. He won the Alydar Stakes as a 3-year-old after placing third in the Grade 3 Hollywood Prevue Stakes at 2.

Bred in Kentucky by Colts Neck Stables, Awesome Patriot is out of the unraced Cee’s Tizzy mare Tizamazing, who is the dam of three winners from as many foals to race. The mare is the product of the prolific Cee’s Tizzy–Cee’s Song cross that directly produced Horse of the Year Tiznow, Grade 2 winners Budroyale and Tizdubai, and the dam of Grade 1 winner Paynter.

The deal was brokered by Sullivan Bloodstock in Chile in conjunction with Matt Bowling Bloodstock in Lexington, Ky.
