Auction at Adena Springs

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Frank Stronach's Adena Springs South operation in Ocala, Fla., announced plans Friday to sell two-thirds of its juvenile crop at a special auction at the farm.

Ocala Breeders' Sales Company will conduct the March 21 sale of about 71 lots. The 2-year-olds represent about 20 sires and include horses from the first crops of Adena Springs stallions Awesome Again, Touch Gold, and Wild Rush. The juveniles will be sold with published reserves, and interested parties can view the horses at the Ocala facility any time during March. According to farm officials, there will be no public workout day.

The auction's starting time will be announced at a later date.

The Adena auction will follow the OBS Championship Stakes day on March 18 and the company's annual Ocala select 2-year-old sale on March 19 and 20.

"This auction reinforces our practice of ongoing support of our young stallion roster," Stronach said.

In a related marketing strategy, Adena annually sells broodmares in foal to farm stallions, and usually offers seasons to Adena stallions along with the mares, in Kentucky every fall.

A barbecue dinner will precede the auction.
