ETOBICOKE, Ontario – Trainer Roger Attfield looks to have a busy weekend ahead for his stable, as he’ll be represented in at least three of the five graded turf stakes here.

Along with Tower of Texas in Saturday's Grade 1, $1 million Woodbine Mile, Attfield will send out Danish Dynaformer and potentially Goodyearforroses in Saturday’s Grade 1, $300,000 Northern Dancer Turf Stakes. Danish Dynaformer will enter off a fifth-place finish in the Grade 1 Arlington Million over 1 1/4 miles at Arlington Park on Aug. 13.

“It was an excellent race,” Attfield said. “If he hadn’t had the bad start that he had, he would have been right there, I’m sure. That was just going a mile and a quarter, which is too short for him against the best. He’s doing very well.”

Goodyearforroses will run in either the Northern Dancer Turf against males or the Grade 2, $300,000 Canadian Stakes. Attfield said he felt Goodyearforroses might prefer the 1 1/2 miles of the Northern Dancer after her victory at that distance in the Flaming Page Stakes on Aug. 13.

“A mile and an eighth is a bit short for her, so that’s why I nominated her to the Northern Dancer,” he said. “She’s training well.”

Attfield is also high on Tiz a Slam, who is perfect in two starts heading into Sunday’s Grade 2, $200,000 Summer Stakes.

“I think a lot of him,” he said. “He’s a very big colt. He’ll be better as a 3-year-old if we look after him, but he hasn’t done anything wrong for me yet.”
