Atlantic City closing-day card washed out

Heavy rains throughout the Mid-Atlantic region forced Parx Racing to cancel the seven turf races scheduled for closing day Wednesday at Atlantic City Race Course. The local horsemen will return home to Parx in suburban Philadelphia to begin racing again on Friday.

To the genius from Long Island. They were having monsoons all along the east coast. Perhaps they were concerned for the horses and riders. Racing was cancelled at 6:30 am, nine hours before post time the first race. A little advice.... monsoon + turf racing = bad combination. Maybe before you drive three hours, you call the track, hop on a computer. I thought you New Yorkers knew everything...............

What an absolute disgrace...Made the 3 hour trip from Long Island, NY to come down here to watch the races today. What would have happened, the turf course would have gotten a little torn up? They only have a FULL YEAR to repair the course! Pathetic, to say the least. A six day meet that runs once a year and it is cancelled for rain? Never again for me.
