Assiniboa Downs: Lucky Lady Go elevated to victory in Jack Hardy

Email

Lucky Lady Go, the second longest shot in the field of five at 5-1, got the win when first-place finisher Mosaico had her number taken down in the $25,000 Jack Hardy for  3-year-old fillies at Assiniboia Downs on Saturday evening.

Mosaico, stepping up off a $3,000 claim, was seeking her fifth straight win in the one-mile Jack Hardy and was very game in prevailing by one length but was disqualified after the stewards ruled she had come over and interfered with runner-up Lucky Lady Go in deep stretch.

Lucky Lady Go ($13.70), ridden by Tyrone Nelson, wound up with her first stakes score for the Go Stable and trainer Murray Duncan.

Mosaico had to settle for second money with Little Widow Maker finishing a distant third, 6 1/4 lengths behind Lucky for Lady.

Jilleah, the odds-on choice, was a non-threatening fourth and Regal Lion brought up the rear.
