Coolmore’s Ashford Stud has released the advertised stud fees for its 13-horse stallion roster for the 2015 breeding season. Perennial leading sire Giant’s Causeway once again reigns as the Versailles, Ky., farm’s flagship stallion, with the 17-year-old son of Storm Cat maintaining his fee of $85,000 for a fourth straight year. A trio of stallions will debut for Ashford during the 2015 season. Declaration of War, a multiple Group 1 winner will stand for $40,000. Magician, winner of the 2013 Breeders’ Cup Turf will be advertised at $12,500, while Grade 1 winner Verrazano will debut at $22,500. Magician and Verrazano will both stand for the first time in the coming season, while Declaration of War entered stud in 2014 at Coolmore’s Irish base. Scat Daddy, a 10-year-old son of Johannesburg and sire of Group 1 winner No Nay Never, will stand for an increased fee of $35,000 after commanding $30,000 the previous breeding season. Also seeing an increased fee in 2015 will be Tale of the Cat, a 20-year-old son of Storm Cat whose fee will rise from $25,000 to $30,000. Stallions standing for reduced fees in 2015 include Majestic Warrior ($17,500 from $22,500), Shanghai Bobby ($15,000 from $20,000), Stay Thirsty ($10,000 from $15,000), and Uncle Mo ($25,000 from $27,500).
