Artistic Moment tries to keep rolling

AURORA, Colo. - Artistic Moment, coming off an impressive score in the Arapahoe Park Sprint, merits a slight edge in Sunday's $20,000 Front Range Stakes at Arapahoe Park. The seven-furlong test attracted a full lineup of 12 and is the eighth event on the nine-race program.

Artistic Moment drew clear by 5 3/4 lengths in the Arapahoe Sprint on June 1 over Absolutely True and Skip and Go, who are both in Sunday's lineup. That was his lone appearance here after a spring campaign at Will Rogers Downs in Oklahoma. On April 1 at Will Rogers Downs, he beat conditioned allowance runners by three lengths for his fourth career win.

Michael Ziegler has the return call aboard Artistic Moment for trainer Stacey Rushton.

Brahma Haze is coming off a solid score in the June 22 Aspen Handicap here and figures to be the main threat. He was never headed in the six-furlong Aspen, gaining a hard-fought three-quarter-length victory over Cut of Music, also in Sunday's lineup. Brahms Haze, trained by Kenneth Gleason, will be ridden by Orlando Martinez after Ziegler opted to ride Artistic Moment.

Cut of Music, 8, will attract his share of supporters. He has made 82 starts, won on 15 occasions, and earned $311,760. Cut of Music, trained by Kevin Eikleberry, will be ridden by Don Frazier.

Takin Issue, Smokem Slew, Ozzy's Shame, Crypts Seeker, Haxtun's Hustler, and Iza General all shipped in for the Front Range.
