Arnett, Wales lead standings

Heading to the midway point of this 36-day stand, the usual combatants are on top in the trainer and jockey standings. Jon Arnett has saddled 27 winners and has a big lead over his nearest challenger, Kenneth Gleason, who has 9 winners. Jockey Travis Wales has 24 wins and holds a solid lead over his nearest rival, Mike Ziegler, who has 13.

* Rasmussen was upset here last Sunday in the Aspen Stakes. The Arnett-trained runner was perfect in five career starts going into the Apsen, except for his disqualification from first in the Gold Rush Futurity last summer due to a medication violation.

Brahms Haze, ridden by Mike Ziegler, rushed up and set all the pace to score the upset by three-quarters of a length. Rasmussen broke from the outside post, pressed the pace but was unable to sustain his bid, finishing third. Gleason saddled the winner for owner James McCall.
