Arlington sets two tournament dates

Arlington Park will host two handicapping contests this year, each worth a minimum of $20,000 in cash, that will qualify the top three finishers for a trip to the Daily Racing Form/National Thoroughbred Racing Association National Handicapping Champ-ionship, to be held in January 2007 in Las Vegas.

The first of the contests is scheduled for Saturday, April 8, at Trackside, the simulcast center located across from the grandstand on the Arlington Park grounds.

The spring contest, which will be limited to 200 entries, falls on Illinois Derby Day, the biggest day of the season at the National Jockey Club meet at Hawthorne Race Course.

Arlington's second contest is set for Sunday, Sept. 10, at Arlington Park itself, and will be limited to 300 entries. The contest formats follow the same general guidelines as the DRF/NTRA National Championship, with contestants required to make mythical $10 win-place wagers on six pre-selected races, and six other wagers of the same type on races chosen by contestants from a selected group of tracks.
