Ioya Bigtime picked right up May 27 where he left off last July 11, winning a race at Arlington Park, and in Monday’s featured seventh race, Ioya Bigtime will try to land his third in a row.
A Team Block homebred by Dynaformer out of Ioya Two, Ioya Bigtime has the pedigree of an Illinois-bred standout. He lost his first two starts, but broke through third time out while racing on grass last summer.
His comeback win came after a long layoff came on Polytrack. It was impressive, too. Some 17 lengths behind at the first call after breaking from post 11 in a 1 1/16-mile entry-level allowance for Illinois-breds, Ioya Big time swept past everyone on the turn to win by a length. The performance probably was impressive enough to make Ioya Bigtime the favorite over six foes in Monday’s second-level Illinois-bred allowance, scheduled for 1 1/16 miles on turf.
One of those rivals is another horse from the barn of trainer Chris Block, Triple Check, who finished third behind still another Block horse, Gold Former, in his most recent race. Triple Check has talent enough to win, but seems to prefer longer distances.
Full Flame finished almost two lengths in front of Triple Check last time and has a chance again Monday, as might Tactics School. Claimed out his most recent start by trainer Tammy Domenosky, Tactics School is given a positive class hike after posting swift morning works and may appreciate returning to turf for the first time since last fall.

ROCKABYEBABY shook loose on the lead before getting nailed on the wire in her April 22 return from a hiatus, from which victorious Blues Music exited to double up going long in NW3 company (61 Beyer). In a field with little other obvious speed, she should take some catching with Kabel back in the saddle. SWIMSWIMSWIM was along for second in her season debut, which was won by a rival who ran second as the heavy favorite in a subsequent $5K NW3 tilt at Fort Erie. MARIANNA, who toppled $16K maidens after coming wide from mid-pack May 9, is a good fit Beyer-wise.
