Hezamazing successfully defended his title in the $40,000 Front Range Stakes at Arapahoe Park on Sunday, forging to a one-length win over Ghost Vapors. It was another 2 1/4 lengths back to Memo to Mya in third. Hezamazing ($18.40) stalked E F Five through fractions of 22.58 seconds for the opening quarter and 45.07 for the half-mile before overtaking the pacesetter as well as Ghost Vapors to win the seven-furlong race in 1:22.99. Russell Vicchrilli was aboard Hezamazing for Carlyle Rollins and trainer Rick Houghton. Hezamazing earned $24,000 for the win, which was his eighth in a stakes and his 15th overall from 48 career starts. The horse, who as a 2-year-old was given to Rollins by a friend, has earned $312,289. Hezamazing is an 8-year-old son of Indy Film bred in California by George Krikorian.
