Arapahoe: Ladysgotthelooks repeat?

Email

Ladysgotthelooks will try for a repeat score in the $28,300 Ingrid Knotts at Arapahoe Park on Sunday. She'll be coupled with Transaction in the six-furlong race for Colorado-bred fillies and mares. Both horses are owned by Tangarae Farms and trained by Kenneth Gleason.

Ladysgotthelooks won last year's Knotts by 3 1/2 lengths over Kranky Karol, who is also in Sunday's seven-horse lineup.

The Knotts was one of two victories for Ladysgotthelooks last season; the other came at Arapahoe in the Spicy Handicap, by five lengths. She has finished fourth in both of her starts over the track this year, her latest behind the impressive Amras in the Molly Brown.

Russell Vicchrilli will again be aboard Ladysgotthelooks, while Jeff Smith will ride Tricky Transaction.

Kranky Karol turned in a solid second-place effort in allowance company in her latest start and will likely be the main opposition. She won two of her eight starts last year. Both of her wins were front-running trips in allowance

company at either Sunland or Albuquerque. Don Frazier has the mount for trainer James Jones.

* The $97,000 Rocky Mountain Futurity is one of four Quarter Horse races on Sunday's nine-race card.

Trainer John Hammes has six runners in the finals of the Rocky Mountain, one four-horse coupling and two uncoupled entrants. The best horse of his in the trials was Mekita, the second-fastest qualifier, who was timed in 17.760. The top qualifier in the 350-yard trials was Off Fishing, timed in 17.691.

The three other Quarter Horse races are the $15,000-added Rocky Mountain Champion, the $25,470 MBNA Distaff Challenge, and the $40,770 finals of the AQHA Bayer Legend Derby.
