OZONE PARK, N.Y. - As was the case with last weekend’s Garland of Roses, it took a supplemental entry to get Saturday’s $100,000 Queens County Stakes to fill. Trainer Richard Dutrow Jr. supplemented Ea, a recent winner of a $35,000 claimer, to the Queens County bringing the field size to five. Dutrow’s primary horse in the race is Arson Squad, who finished third, beaten a neck, as the 4-5 favorite in last year’s Queens County. Arson Squad, an 8-year-old son of Brahms, is winless in three starts this year and has not run since finishing last in the Three Coins Up Stakes at Belmont in May. Arson Squad will be ridden by Ryan Curatolo from post 4. Ea, who picked up Dominguez, drew post 5. Inherit the Gold, a winner of 5 of 6 starts on the inner track, is the horse to beat in the Queen County. Inherit the Gold is coming off a neck victory in a New York Stallion Stakes going seven furlongs over the main track on Nov. 12. Cornelio Velasquez rides form post 3. Ron the Green, and Fonda Ronda Won complete the field for the Queen County which will go as race 8 on the nine-race card.
