Aqueduct: A streaking Judicial Leader heads feature cast

Judicial Leader, who has won three in a row and four of her last five races, heads a field of six entered at Aqueduct in Wednesday's $40,000 starter handicap for horses who have started for a claiming price of $10,000 or less in the last 37 months. The race will be run at a mile and 70 yards over the inner track.

Judicial Leader was claimed by Chris Englehart for $10,000 last September at Belmont. Since then she has four wins and a third in five starts, with the last two wins having come in two-turn races over the inner track.

Judicial Leader has shown versatility, winning her race two starts back in front-running fashion, while coming from the off-the-pace to defeat New York-bred second-level allowance opponents on Jan. 11.

Alan Garcia rides Judicial Leader from post 3.

The horse to fear is Silver Chest, who makes her first start off the claim for trainer Bruce Levine.

◗ Ryan Curatolo, a finalist for the Eclipse Award as the top apprentice rider of 2011, officially became a journeyman on Sunday. Irad Ortiz Jr. loses his apprentice status at the conclusion of Wednesday's card. Ortiz is the leading apprentice with 43 winners, tying him for third in the standings at this meet.

Through the halfway point of the inner-track season, Ramon Dominguez and Cornelio Velasquez are tied atop the rider standings with 50 wins apiece.
