OZONE PARK, N.Y. - San Pablo, winner of Saturday’s Queens County Stakes at Aqueduct, will likely be headed to south Florida for the winter, trainer Todd Pletcher said. “There are not many opportunities [in New York] really with any decent purses till the Excelsior,” said Pletcher, referring to a Grade 3, $150,000 race run in late March. “This is a horse we’ve always liked. He seems like he’s kind of putting it together. If he can take another step forward then he might fit with the top echelon.” San Pablo, a son of Jump Start, has won 9 of 15 starts. He earned a 95 Beyer Speed Figure for his half-length victory over Gallant Fields.
