Aqueduct, Philadelphia cancel Sunday cards

Aqueduct canceled Sunday’s nine-race card as weather forecasts call for a nor’easter that could bring 2 to 4 inches of rain as well as high winds to the area throughout the day. The track will be open for simulcasting, however, and admission will be free.

The cancellation is the second this week as Aqueduct was forced to scrap the final seven races of Thursday’s card due to the wet track conditions that the jockeys called unsafe.

Sunday’s races will be brought back as extras throughout next week.

Racing is scheduled to resume on Wednesday at 1 p.m.

* Philadelphia Park also canceled its Sunday card in anticipation of the storm.
