Aqueduct: Montalvo hospitalized, one horse dies in 11th race spill

Jockey Carlos Montalvo was taken by ambulance to North Shore University Hospital following the running of Saturday’s 11th race at Aqueduct in which his mount Bacchi fell.

A second horse, Rotten to the Core, died instantly after he fell over Bacchi and suffered head or neck trauma, according to New York Racing Association officials. Bacchi sustained a knee laceration, but otherwise was reported to be okay.

Ryan Curatolo, the jockey of Bacchi, appeared to escape the spill uninjured.

It was the second death on the main track after 21 horses died during the inner track meet.

Nevermind the girl on sumfun who cut bacchi off and caused the accident. She also did it in a race a couple of weeks ago while on the horse that died, Rotten to the Core. She needs to be taken off the track and taught how to ride. After causing the accident, my father, the owner of the dead horse, asked her how she was after her fall and was ignored. I witnessed it. She needs to go back to boston and stay there. Go give pony rides at birthday parties because you sure dont know how to ride a horse in a race.
