Aqueduct: Home and Away pulls off upset

Home and Away took advantage of her inside post to get a ground-saving trip before rallying from last to win the $83,450 East View Stakes for New York-bred juvenile fillies by 4 1/2 lengths at Aqueduct.

Zippy Missy, the 4-5 favorite, had a wide trip and had to settle for second after making the lead in upper stretch. She finished 2 1/4 lengths clear of Bee in a Bonnet.

It was the second straight victory and third consecutive solid performance for Home and Away since adding blinkers. Home and Away, a daughter of Skip Away who is bred, owned, and trained by Joe Lostritto, covered 1 1/16 miles in 1:47.95 under Jose Espinoza and returned $22.20 to win.

"We'll probably give her a month off and see what's in the condition book," Lostritto said.

* Earlier on the card, Spanish Mission ran by a stubborn Gold and Roses inside the sixteenth pole to win the $66,500 Go for Gin Stakes by 1 1/2 lengths. Spanish Mission, trained by Shug McGaughey, ran a mile and 70 yards in 1:42.07 and returned $10.40 to win.
