OZONE PARK, N.Y.  - Awesome Feather, the undefeated 2-year-old filly champion of 2010, steps back into graded stakes competition Saturday when she heads a field of 10 entered in the Grade 1, $250,000 Gazelle Stakes for 3-year-old fillies. Carded as the ninth of 10 races on Saturday’s card, the Gazelle is the last Grade 1 race of the year to be run on this circuit. Awesome Feather will break from post 7 in the 10-horse field set to contest 1 1/8 miles over Aqueduct’s main track. At 2, Awesome Feather won both of her starts around two turns, including the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies. A tendon injury delayed Awesome Feather’s return to the races until October, when she won a seven-furlong overnight stakes at Belmont by two lengths. Jeffrey Sanchez rides Awesome Feather from post 7.[bc_video_id:239124:] The Gazelle will test the distance capabilities of virtually all 10 fillies entered as only one – Love and Pride – has won at the distance. Other contenders in the field include Savvy Supreme and Miss Valentine, the one-two finishers in the Monmouth Oaks, and R Gypsy Gold and Draw It, the one-two finishers in the Real Prize Stakes at Belmont on Oct. 27.   DRF Black Friday Special: 55% OFF the NEW Champions Book & 2012 Calendar FREE – CLICK HERE FOR DETAILS
