Angelica Slew looks strong off key race

Angelica Slew can become the latest filly to flatter Yearly Report, if she defeats 13 others in the $40,000 Lady's Secret at Remington Park in Oklahoma City on Sunday. The seven-furlong race for fillies and mares will close out the meet.

Angelica Slew last raced on Oct. 29, finishing third to Yearly Report in the $150,000 Stonerside at Lone Star Park. Yearly Report won that seven-furlong race by 9 1/4 lengths, and covered the distance in a track-record 1:20.60.

Since then, Homemaker, who finished second to Yearly Report, returned in her next start and won a Sunland Park allowance by seven lengths. And Storm Minstrel, who finished off the board in the Stonerside, won the $60,000 Safely Kept in her next start, which came at Aqueduct.

Angelica Slew has won 4 of 7 starts, with her peak effort coming at Retama Park in August, when she won the $40,000 New Braunfels over Grade 3 winner Wacky Patty. Cliff Berry has the mount for trainer James McArthur.

Storm Breaking will return to the main track and seven furlongs for the Lady's Secret. The last time she ran under those conditions she won an allowance at Lone Star in June. Don Pettinger has the mount for trainer Donnie Von Hemel.

Casual Attitude ships in from Kentucky, and like Storm Breaking, she will return to dirt on Sunday. The last time she raced on the main track she won the $43,000 Central Iowa at Prairie Meadows on Sept. 11. Tim Doocy has the mount for trainer Steve Hobby.

Another notable in Sunday's race includes Sharky's Review, a winner of $683,025.
